One of my friends from knitting and the Newcomers and Visiting Scholars group invited a bunch of us to her home for tea. We had a wonderful time, and enjoyed her lovely garden. I don't think Americans plant enough bulbs, that is all there is to it. I did not take many photos, it did not seem like that kind of an event.
And having the glass walled conservatory was fantastic. Alex and I have been admiring them from the train, where we mostly see the backs of people's homes. I wonder why they are not so popular in the states?
Margaret said they are not considered posh, and sometimes the neighbors don't like to look at them, but they use it all the time. She did mention that washing the windows on the top is a bit of a pain, and it really does have to be done. It was a lovely afternoon, with people from England, Scotland, Wales, France, Japan, and the US. We are living the flat part of the world here in Cambridge.
