In which I walk around Oxford, get drenched, and enjoy every minute of it
I had dinner this evening at Green College, with the other conference-goers. For someone who tends to feel like a total cultural slob whenever he visits Oxford, a semi-formal dinner is a very cool thing.
I have no idea what college this is, but my camera does a good job of taking pictures in low light.
Cool reflection on the stones. If the image were larger, you could see all the little cats and dogs that were pouring down.
At this point, I started getting pretty wet, despite the fact that I had my raincoat. But who cares: this is exactly the kind of weather I expect when I come here, I think the place looks absolutely stunning in the rain, and I loved it.
The bollards at some intersections light up, as you can see. However, an ambulance drove through the intersection just as I was taking the picture.
When I got back, I found an iron and ironed my pants to get some of the moisture out of them. I think they'll be okay to wear tomorrow.
So, I'm confused. How much can you eat here? Maybe I'll try it sometime.
