The Washington Post has a nice obituary of David van Keuren, an historian of science at the Naval Research Laboratory who was recently killed.
I knew David a little when I was at Penn-- he was several years ahead of me in the graduate program-- and ran into him in conferences and workshops on a regular basis. He was a great guy.
