We wanted to take the good camera back up Great Saint Mary's, so we met there last Monday. We were hoping for some real sun to break through, but that only happened after we had climbed back down.
Still, the view is amazing.
The tower from the street level.
The bell ropes. This church always makes me think of Dorothy Sayers The Nine Tailors, which is set in the Fens, just north of here. I will want to read that again when I get home. For reasons that I don't understand Sayers books are not available for Kindle, so I have not read it while I have been here.
Up one more level, here are the bells themselves.
The staircase is challenging, mostly because the stairs are not even. But the view is totally worth it.
A bit of blue sky did show up, for a few minutes.
Me at the top, with King's in the background.
These ravens showed up like they own the place.
I made a video. Sorry about the noise, I think it was coming from the construction.
