One of the things I love about Cambridge is the relative absence of cars in the main area of town. One of our guides said they just had to get really tough on it, or things were just going to be out of hand, so several years ago they put really strict rules about driving in the central area during the day. And it is working. Of course since I still look the wrong way I am likely to be run down by someone on a bike, but that is a different story.
